Ah, rejection. A little bit is healthy, but there's always a certain amount of pain involved. As for this illustration, I haven't decided whether this version w/color or the original sketch is better (click on image to see both on flickr).

i prefer the one without the color. the red distracts me from looking at the girl.

i perfer the toucch of red shows the pain of a broken heart better
I like the red better. It shows a great deal of emotion and is a much more powerful image.
